Carmel Phillips is an experienced physiotherapist with over 30 years’ experience directing physiotherapy clinics and treating patients hands-on.
Hands-On Physiotherapy clinic in Templestowe was established by Carmel in 2013. She brings to the area her extensive physiotherapy skills and knowledge from her experience in both public and private practice settings.
Graduating in 1983, Carmel initially worked at the Alfred Hospital for several years, before moving to private practice and focusing on the areas of musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy.
From 1989 to 2013, Carmel was a director and senior physiotherapist at Sportscare Physiotherapy & Pilates Clinic in Dingley. As one of the senior clinicians at Sportscare she developed a professional hands-on approach to assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of all spinal, musculoskeletal and sports injuries.
Many of Carmel’s long-term patients from Dingley continue to travel to Templestowe for physiotherapy treatment due to their utmost trust in her clinical expertise and skill.
Carmel has a strong manual therapy focus using predominantly a ‘hands-on’ treatment approach and she continues to keep abreast of the latest and best evidence-based physiotherapy techniques and research.
Carmel is passionate about the profession of physiotherapy and providing first-class quality care to her patients at Hands-On Physiotherapy.
